The Big Weekend

I've spent much of the last two weeks in NYC, so I've been out of the loop a little on what's going on in Beacon this week.
The Armory, Scope, Diva, and Pulse shows are going on in Manhattan, and I won't be able to make back down this weekend. If someone wants to report what they've seen, I'd be happy to pass it along.

In Beacon, it is Second Saturday, and here is what I know....This is a real quick rundown, as I am pressed for time at the moment. For more information, please visit the baca website, or the sites of any of the galleries. Links are in the sidebar. If you still have questions, feel free to email me.

Openings are happening at most of the galleries in town.
Bannerman Island Gallery is showing work by Frank Cannas and Judy Reynolds.

Kiesendahl + Calhoun Gallery is featuring paintings by Kate McCloughlin. I hear that this will also be the last show at Kiesendahl + Calhoun.

RiverWinds Gallery is also having a reception with "city scape" paintings by Robert Divito, and recycled material sculpture John Jackson.

Wild Wood Gallery is featuring the Patricia White Watson collection of photographs.

Zahra's Studio will feature Steve Cerio's illustrations

I have heard, but not confirmed that Bulldog is having an open studio Saturday. They are usually 12-5 pm.

Spire Studios is hosting its Quarterly Open Studio featuring an exhibit curated by Jackie Skryznski and Robert Modaffari. Exhibition artists are: Kerry Dennehy, Greg Graham, Ann LePore, Lorie Merhige, Eric Sung, Lydia Viscardi. There will be music later on....the open studio starts at 6pm and runs very late.

bau will be featuring Christopher Staples' collaborations with many different artists.
Para/site will be having a closing reception for Curry Mendes' "Color Me Bad" exhibit.
