Contemporary Confrontations opens at Katonah Museum of Art, Jan 24, 2009

The Katonah Musuem of Art's tri-state juried exhibition Contemporary Confrontations opens with at reception on Saturday, Jan 24, 5-7pm.
There's no artist information posted anywhere, but I do know that Michael Natiello's sculpture Boot Bush (above) is included in the exhibit. The exhibit will remain on view through February 22.

Michael and Martha - together again

Michael Natiello will be reprising his role as the roughly handsome pumpkin carver on the Martha Stewart show today. This appearance on the show is Michael's second in his capacity as creative director of Van Cortlandt Manor's annual Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze.
Michael's carving segment will appear locally at 11 am on NBC, and then on Wednesday Martha will air a dinner she hosted for Historic Hudson Valley, that produces the Blaze.

Michael Natiello, local artist and overall crafty guy will be appearing on the Martha Stewart Show tomorrow, (Oct 25, 2007) demonstrating pumpkin carving techniques. Check your local listings.

Since it's inception, Michael has over seen the creative preparations for The Great Pumpkin Blaze held every year at Van Cortlandt Manor.

Three years ago, I was among the phalanx of carvers assembled to make short order of thousands of gourds while braving nonstop monsoon rains. Matt Kinney, Alexis Elton, Sara Mussen, Peter Iannarelli, and Jeff Caramagna were my carpool buddies and fellow carvers that year. I believe Sara was among the carvers last year too.

Matthew Kinney was not invited to appear with Martha.
