This "call" is for artists to make work about MADE IN CHINA or use objects
MADE IN CHINA in the work itself.
Did you know that many of the objects MADE IN CHINA that are sold in USA &
EVERYWHERE are produced by LAOGAI ?
Laogai is a vast labor camp made up of criminals and political dissenters.
Maybe the shirt you have purchased is from these hands.
Maybe the toys that your children play with are from this form of cheap or
forced labor.
China tops the world in executions more than 2,300 per year----some of
these executions are related to organ harvesting-- providing organs and
tissue that are for sale.
Wal-Mart the world's largest retailer buys most of the commodities sold in
their stores from China.
You can buy oil paintings by Van Gogh-- MADE IN CHINA--
You can buy shirts, dresses, shoes, socks, food, glasses, toasters, belts,
bicycles, light bulbs, toys, dishes, paper, firecrackers, pens, pencils,
coffins, herbs, canned food, art, hearts, and more...ALL MADE IN CHINA.
MADE IN CHINA will include performance, film, and texts as well as visual
art.
